CEFTRIAZZER® Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin for parenteral use that shows significant activity against serious gram-negative germs. Ceftriaxone penetrates through the blood-brain barrier, making it useful in treating meningitis. Although its activity against gram-positive organisms is less than that of first-generation cephalosporins, it is an effective antibiotic against methicillin-sensitive strains of streptococci and S. aureus. Of all the cephalosporins, ceftriaxone has the longest plasma half-life, allowing the administration of only one dose per day.
Therapeutic indications:
Infectious processes caused by germs sensitive to ceftriaxione, including beta-lactamase producers.
Administration mode:
Intramuscular / Intravenous.
Suggested dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years 1 gram a day in a single administration for the time indicated by the doctor; Children older than 7 days 50-75 mg / Kg of weight.
